We have all felt it—the raw, aching aftermath of a breakup. The loss of a future that will never be. The weight of words left unspoken. A relationship is not just a chapter in your life; it is a living entity that grows, transforms, and, sometimes, comes to an end. Yet, when it does, we are rarely given the space to truly honor its passing.

At Heartbreak Undertakers, we do what society does not:
we hold a funeral for the past. This is not about dwelling on heartbreak—it is about ritualizing its release. Together, we step into the liminal space between what was and what will be, allowing the remnants of the relationship to rise—the love, the fury, the ache—and giving them permission to be seen, felt, and finally set free. Through movement, voice, and ceremony, we loosen the grip of what once was and reclaim the energy that is rightfully ours.

In this sacred rite, we transmute pain into power. We pour our emotions into a eulogy. We sever the energetic ties that linger. And in a final act of surrender, we bury what no longer serves us, offering it to the earth to be alchemized into something new. To the outside world, this may seem dramatic, but deep healing often is.

This ceremony was born out of love—for my friend, who needed a way to let go of someone who had wronged her. I wanted to give her the space to feel it all—to grieve, to rage, to reclaim herself. And now, I offer that same space to you.
